As part of an overall design of The Federal Ministry for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) in Nuremberg , the order for a wall design came in. A particular challenge with the 2.5 km long corridors in the 1200 offices. The historical legacy of the building and its mighty structural appearance required a sensitive and self-confident approach.
"Home earth" is the theme. Floor-to-ceiling corrugated images show motifs with images taken by NASA on our "home planet". They find their abstract continuation on the walls of the corridors. In materials such as corten steel, lacquered stainless steel, waste wood, pinged safety glass, sand, gold plaster to lively moss images.
One and the same corridor offers two different aspects - depending on which direction you are moving in it or in which direction you are looking.
The video gives an insight into the idea and shows a small selection of the work.
