"Ein Ort, wo sich Himmel und Erde berühren"
Gelegen inmitten des Biosphärenreservats Rhön, wird der Kreuzberg, der "Heilige Berg der Franken", seit dem 17. Jh. von einem Franziskanerkloster geprägt. An diesem traditionellen und viel besuchten Wallfahrtsort entstand das "Bruder Franz Haus" als Begegnungs- und Informationsstätte.
Die integrierte Dauerausstellung "Franz von Assisi und Gottes Schöpfung" vermittelt Leben und die Ideale Franz von Assisis (1182-1226). Zudem werden den Besuchern Leben, Arbeit und Ziele der heutigen Franziskaner nahegebracht und ihr besonderes Verhältnis zur Schöpfung. Neben der Ausstellung gibt das "Bruder Franz Haus" Raum für Gespräche mit den Mönchen und Gelegenheit zur Meditation.
Das gesamte Erscheinungsbild der Ausstellung und Meditationsräumen folgt in Form und Materialien den Prinzipien des Franziskanischen Glaubens: Einfachheit, Brüderlichkeit und Lebensfreude.
"A place where heaven and earth touch"
Situated in the heart of the biosphere-reserve Rhön, the Kreuzberg, "Franconia's sacred mountain" is marked by a francescan monastery since the 17th century: A traditional and popular destiny of pilgrimage plus mundane meeting place. A "Friar Francis House" of encounter and information has been created there.
It lodges a permanent exhibition "Friar Francis of Assisi and God's Creation" where Francis' life (1182 - 1226) and ideals are communicated. Furthermore life, work and ideals of present-day Francescans and their particular relation to creation are materialized. The House is at the same time room to meet, to talk with the monks and for meditate.
Shaping the exhibition and the meditation-space follows in form and materials the principles of the Francescan belief: Simplicity, Brotherhood and Joy of Living.
